• American Quail originally reported in East Cowes earlier in week (from County Press), now reported in Wootton today in a bird friendly garden, described as being about the size of a small football, from a web page as being 9" - 11" in size,  seems tame as it was tapping at a window, presumably wanting to come in.

We now have daily visits from buzzards both above us and sometimes swooping down across the garden into the trees. The west wight now has a yearly increasing population of buzzards.
